First Aid Course

First aid course teaches essential life-saving skills, including CPR, wound care, and responding to emergencies. Participants learn how to provide initial medical assistance, promote safety, and stabilize injured individuals until professional help arrives.

Course information

Course Duration

First Aid course duration:

5.5 hours (including lunch break)

CPR course duration:

2 hours + mandatory pre-work.

​EVERY TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY AND SUNDAY - 8:30am-2:00pm

Original documents of identification must be presented on the day.​

You must fulfil the 100 points identification requirements prior to attending this course.

This must include:

  • Passport and Bankcard or Licence

  • Licence and Medicare card and Bankcard

 

​​USI Requirements (Compulsory requirement)

All students undertaking nationally recognised training must have a USI (Unique Student Identifier) prior to attending our course. If you do not have a USI, you MUST apply for a USI here www.usi.gov.au

You will need to fill out the Enrolment form when you enrol for this course.

As per the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice and the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, first aid skills (HLTAID011) are renewed every 3 years and resuscitation (CPR) skills (HLTAID009) are renewed every 12 months.

First Aid course:

This course covers the following:


- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- The DRSABCD action plan and responding to emergency situations

- Managing unconscious casualties
- Using a defibrillator (AED)
- Legal issues in first aid
- Infection control

- Roles and responsibilities of the first aider
- Diabetes and seizures
- Asthma
- Allergic reactions and Anaphylaxis
- Wound and bleeding management
- Burns
- Fractures and dislocations
- Sprains and strains
- Hypothermia and hyperthermia
- Head, neck, and spinal injuries
- Medical emergencies
- Choking
- Abdominal and chest injuries
- Poisoning management
- Bites and stings
- Stroke
- Safety and risk management

 

CRP Course ONLY: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation 

Pre-work is required.

If online mandatory pre-work is not completed prior to the course date, students will not be permitted to enter the class and will not receive certification.

On successful completion of this course, you will be issued a statement of attainment in: 

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
